Norrhälsinge Rescue Service works for a safe and secure municipality.

The assignments vary and can involve everything from fires and traffic accidents to providing first aid.

We have six stations staffed by on-call firefighters: Hudiksvall, Iggesund, Delsbo, Friggesund, Jättendal, and Hassela. As an on-call firefighter, you usually have a regular job with another employer. When the alarm goes off, you respond from the station you belong to.

Are you our next part-time firefighter? We are looking for someone with great commitment who can be available for emergency response during part of their time. Our rescue teams often face complex situations, and to ensure we have as broad a competence as possible, we seek individuals with diverse experiences and backgrounds.

We are looking for someone who has a good ability to work in a team, is resilient under stress, and is practically oriented. You possess a high degree of personal maturity. You are self-driven, flexible, and persistent in challenging circumstances. It is also important that you are good at communicating with people and are service-oriented.

The arrangement varies, but the foundation is that you are on call every fourth week. During that week, you respond when the alarm goes off, whether you are at home or at work. In case of an alarm, you must be at the fire station in your respective locality within eight minutes. The number of responses varies between different locations.

No prior knowledge is required; you will receive the training and practice you need from us. First, a basic training course lasting five weeks (GRIB 1) with us, followed by GRIB 2, which is conducted by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) as soon as you have completed GRIB 1.

You will regularly participate in internal training and exercises. Most training sessions are held at your local station in the evenings, as well as a full-day exercise in spring and autumn. You will receive a salary from us during all training and exercises.

The person selected for the position must be medically approved by our occupational health service to be employed.

Requirements:

• Passed treadmill test conducted at the fire station in Hudiksvall before the test day. Time for the test can be booked at tel. 0650-380 11.
• Swim proficient
• Good physical condition
• Class B driver's license (Class C driver's license is an advantage)
• You live and work within 8 minutes of the rescue station
• Approval from your main employer to work as an on-call firefighter

Admission tests and interviews are planned for week 8, 2026.
